Nick Manion

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Nicholas L. Manion, PharmD, RPh, MS is the Founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer for Pointer Health Solutions. Dr. Manion is a visionary entrepreneur with a passion for bringing transformative healthcare to employers and their local communities. Through implementing innovative strategies, he has helped organizations save millions of dollars in pharmacy and medical benefit plan costs while improving the overall health of their populations.

Throughout his career, Dr. Manion has served as a population health leader and managed care pharmacy expert in large organizations such as OhioHealth. In these roles, he has led medical and pharmacy benefits management consulting and solutions as well as direct to employer and medical plan population health. He has also directed clinical and financial outcomes in at-risk payor contracting arrangements through network management and pharmacy services support for physician groups, Clinically Integrated Networks, and Accountable Care Organizations. In addition to his population health, managed care, and leadership background, Dr. Manion also has experience in many areas of practice including community pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, ambulatory care, healthcare legislation, and health system operations and finance.

He obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy. After graduating, he completed a two-year, Health System Pharmacy Administration residency with OhioHealth while concurrently earning his Master of Science in Health System Pharmacy Administration from The Ohio State University. Throughout his professional career, he has achieved multiple accolades including awards, advisory board appointments, and professional presentations at the national, state, and local level.

Dr. Manion lives in Grove City, Ohio with his wife, Chelsea, daughter, Reese Emory, and German Shorthaired Pointer, Roscoe. When not engaged in optimizing healthcare benefits, he enjoys serving in his local church, spending time with his family, anything outdoors, especially upland bird hunting, and continuing his collegiate passion of playing basketball.

Marc Sweeney

Executive Board Member & Senior Advisor

Marc A. Sweeney, RPh, BS Pharm, PharmD, BCMAS serves as an Executive Board Member and Senior Advisor for Pointer Health Solutions. Dr. Sweeney is a career-long entrepreneur who has assisted in the launch and/or strategic growth of several companies, colleges of pharmacy, pharmacies, organizations, and programs. He has transformed healthcare and improved overall health for many beneficiaries in local governments, companies (including Fortune 500 companies), and organizations both domestically and internationally by saving millions of dollars in pharmacy benefit plan costs. He strategically aligns stakeholders to create synergistic wins for all involved while creating new jobs.

Dr. Sweeney was the Founding Dean of the School of Pharmacy at Cedarville University and on the Founding Executive Leadership Team of The University of Findlay College of Pharmacy. He has also served on the faculty and leadership at Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy assisting in the development of the Doctor of Pharmacy program. In addition to an extensive academic and leadership background, Dr. Sweeney also has experience in many areas of practice including community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, ambulatory care, homecare/home infusion, managed care, and hospice.

He obtained his B.S. in Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University, his Doctor of Pharmacy from The Ohio State University, and completed his fellowship at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is the Director of the Entrepreneurship Center for the Ohio Pharmacists Association following service as a past president and board member. He also has served as a board Member of the Ohio Chapter of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and has won over 30 awards during his career. Throughout his professional career, he has generated several publications, provided many professional presentations, and has obtained over $9 million in research and project grants.

Dr. Sweeney lives in Xenia, Ohio with his wife, Patti. His children include Rachel, her husband Luke, Ben, and Anna. Outside of work, he is active in his local church and enjoys playing piano, biking, hiking, and music.

Dave Peters

Executive Board Member & Chief Operating Officer

David M. Peters serves as an Executive Board Member and Chief Operating Officer for Pointer Health Solutions. Dave is responsible for providing strategic line of sight and resourcing needed to deliver both value and exceptional client experience within the employer healthcare benefit space.

With over 35 years of senior leadership experience in the Fortune 100 space and managing a $500M P&L, Dave brings both experience and expertise for reducing operating costs for large commercial, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and public sector clients. Dave is a passionate and deliberate leader who measures success by the people and organizations he serves.

Dave obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron where he currently teaches various leadership courses. He was recognized and received a Distinguished University of Akron Alumni Award and sits on the Advisory Council Board for Mechanical Engineering. Dave also teaches leadership at Stark State College.

Dave lives in Canton, Ohio with his wife, Tammy and dog, Ellie. Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time with his three grown children, grandchildren, and friends, as well as anything outdoors such as fishing, boating, and hiking. He is also a Deacon in his local church and serves as the Chairman of the Board for Project One8 Missionary Agency.

Tim Funk


Timothy J. Funk serves as President for Pointer Health Solutions. Tim is responsible for providing line of sight for all day to day operations, client engagement, communications, outreach, and creating an exceptional client experience that delivers value to meet and exceed your specific healthcare benefit needs. Tim’s expertise resides in creating a meaningful connection between innovative healthcare solutions and key decision-makers to deliver exceptional value and improved health outcomes. He believes everybody, including you, deserves to feel valued and connected to meaningful work.

Before this role, Tim served as Vice President of Strategic Alliances at PetCure Oncology and over thirty years in numerous commercial leadership and leadership development roles for GlaxoSmithKline and Takeda Pharmaceuticals.

Tim obtained his B.A. in Microbiology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has also obtained numerous leadership, coaching, self-awareness and sales engagement training certifications. Tim’s leadership and passion for excellence have led numerous commercial teams to award-winning performance.

Tim lives in Steamboat Springs, Colorado with his wife and best friend Mary and their dog Elvis. Outside of work, you will find Tim enjoying time with Mary along with their four grown children. Tim loves to serve others and enjoys skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and all things outdoors.

Jeff Lewis

Senior Advisor of Growth

Jeffrey D. Lewis, PharmD, BSPharm, RPh serves as Senior Advisor of Growth for Pointer Health Solutions. Dr. Lewis applies over 35 years of professional experience in pharmacy towards ensuring that Pointer Health Solutions clients achieve both their clinical care and cost management objectives in the healthcare benefit arena. He is an effective communicator and collaborator focused on meeting the needs of others.

Dr. Lewis has served in senior leadership and patient care roles in a variety of healthcare enterprises, from health system and community pharmacy settings to medical publishing with industry leading Lexi-Comp and, most recently, academia as Dean of Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy.

He obtained his B.S. in Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University, his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati, and completed an Advanced Residency in Hospital Pharmacy Administration at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond, VA. fellowship at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has served as a board member of the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Throughout his professional career, he has generated several publications, most notably as founding author/editor of the internationally-acclaimed drug-drug interactions database, Lexi-Interact™. Dr. Lewis has provided many professional presentations on clinical, administrative, jurisprudence and ethics-related topics throughout his career.

Dr. Lewis lives in Taylors, South Carolina with his wife, Debbie and standard poodle, Reuben. When not engaged in optimizing pharmacy-related services, he and Debbie can be found hiking, biking, golfing, and enjoying great coffee (they’re not snobs, they’re enthusiasts); or, on very special days, he can be found at home roasting small batches of specialty coffee beans. They also enjoy spending time with their two grown children.

Cheryl Reese

Senior Advisor of Data & Analytics

Cheryl Reese serves as Senior Advisor of Data & Analytics for Pointer Health Solutions. Cheryl applies over 20 years of professional experience in administrative and executive leadership, management, and customer service towards ensuring that Pointer Health Solutions clients achieve both their data analysis and cost management objectives in healthcare benefits.

Cheryl Reese has assisted in the implementation of multiple pharmacy benefits models resulting in millions of dollars in savings for employers throughout the Midwest. She has implemented customized digital platforms for prior authorizations and clinical consultations, managed pharmacy benefit requests for proposals (RFPs), managed clinical pharmacy service operations, and designed analytics reporting for drug pricing. Cheryl has also coordinated continuing pharmacy education programming and accreditation for CPE Consultants.

Cheryl obtained her Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cedarville University.

Cheryl lives in Fairborn, Ohio with her husband of 30 years, Chris, and beagle, Roxy. Outside of work, she likes to stay active visiting her children and grandchild in Ohio and Florida, as well as daily walks, rain or shine, with Roxy.
